Stress how effects You

Updated: Jul 22, 2020

First what is stress? Stress is is your body's reaction to a challenge or demand. In short bursts, stress can be positive, such as when it helps you avoid danger or meet a deadline.

When an individual experiences prolonged stress (relationship issues, money issues, health concerns) it can cause adverse effects on your emotional and physical health. Some of the physical effects can be headache, stomach issues, insomnia, heart disease, high blood pressure, infertility issues, erectile dysfunction, diabetes. inflammation and a reduced immune system. Some of the emotional effects: anxiety, depression, lack of motivation, inability to focus, feeling overwhelmed, anger and sadness.

Prolonged periods of stress are called chronic stress. Often times we are so used to stress that we do not realize it is a problem. Even though we do not realize it is a problem our body is reacting to the constant stress by producing a physical and/or emotional manifestation.
